The Husna Table Tennis Tournament is a cornerstone of the Husna experience, drawing players from around the world to compete, not just for victory, but for the camaraderie and connection forged through spirited matches. Amidst enthusiastic, passionate audiences, players of all levels can test their skills against one another, including past champions, and leave with lasting bonds built on sportsmanship and shared passion for the game.

Entry criteria

  • This is a sisters only tournament, with a separate brothers only tournament at another night.
  • The tournament is open for all sisters aged 15 and over.
  • The capacity of this tournament is 40 participants. Walk-ins will be accommodated in case of no shows (see the rules)

 

Tournament format

  • Single elimination
  • Players will be randomly seeded
  • Some players will receive a bye into round 2
  • Prizes for Champion and Runner up
  • All games max 11 points no deuce (first to 11 wins), serve changes every 2 points, except:
    • Quarter finals max 15 points no deuce (first to 15 wins), serve changes every 5 points
    • Semi finals best of 3 games, 21 points, no deuce (first to 21 wins), serve changes every 5 points
    • Finals best of 3 games, 21 points, deuce max at 25, serve changes every 5 points 
Am I allowed to bring my own paddle?

Yes you can, the resort will make every effort to provide good paddles to use.

We will have 1 table.

Yes! Outside of the tournament schedule, the tables will be available for anyone for free play.

Yes! People are welcome to come and watch

Each person should sign up for themselves. This eliminates duplicate names and avoids confusion.

This is an open tournament, all skill levels are welcome but expect some players to be highly skilled (based on previous years)

We will try to facilitate late comers at the end of the round, please see the rules above.

RULES

  • • All standard table tennis rules will be used for this tournament.
  • • All participants are expected to arrive at the start time.
  • • If there is a no-show, the match will be bumped to the bottom of the round.
  • • Walk-ons will be allowed to replace a no-show player at the bottom of the round.
  • • Once round 1 is complete (including bumped matches), no new players/matches will be added.
  • • All participants are expected to play with the best code of conduct: respect yourself, respect the players, and respect the umpires.
  • • All umpires' decisions are final.
  • • Guest volunteers will be helping to umpire and facilitate the tournament.
  • • A 5-minute grace period will be provided if playing back-to-back matches.
